Musical Peace Jam
We mark the ode to resistance with a musical peace jam that will take place on Jan 26th, Sunday at 7 pm. At 8 pm we will open the space for improv jamming so please bring your musical instruments. The songs will be about peace and harmony – something we feel we have lost over the last few months as a nation.
Film Screenings: 3 Art Events in Bangalore at FLUX
On Jan 25th, Saturday we will be screening ‘The boy in the striped pajamas’ at 7:30 pm.
Directed by Mark Herman, the film talks about a time during the Second World War and depicts the story from two young boys’ perspective.
On Feb 1st, Saturday, we will be screening ‘So sorry’ directed by Ai Wei Wei. This is a documentary that talks about holding governments responsible – particularly through this one – that narrates a tragic earthquake in China (Sichuan) and the students who died due to corrupt governmental constructions. The documentary asks many pertinent questions.
On Feb 2nd, Sunday, we will be screening ‘Om Dar-b-dar’ directed by Kamal Swaroop. This film is considered a pioneer in the Indian avant garde cinema. Hence we need not say more about this!
We would love you to come and watch these films with us. After that we will be opening a space for conversations and discussions around these screenings after each film.
Theatre Productions: 3 More Art Events in Bangalore at FLUX
On Feb 7th, we will bring the Ode to resistance to a close with 3 physical theatre and playback theatre productions centered on the topics of resistance, individual freedom, collective freedom, equality, dignity, free expression and fundamental rights.
