Yes, And… Playback Theatre Training Workshop in Bangalore Indiranagar at FLUX will help participants get trained in its core fundamentals. In fact these are the fundamentals of playback theatre including the different roles (actor, musician, conductor), rituals and formats. It has the potential to turn you into a real  acting hero on stage as well as in life!

The participants first get to explore the basics skills needed for improv and interactive theatre through exercises that are high-energy and fun. First, the participants are able to break their inhibitions and become comfortable to use their bodies. The next set of exercises will take them  to the next step. They go deeper into elements of self-awareness, authentic expressing, and nuances of improvising both individually and as a team. It then dwells into the specific forms within Playback Theatre, both short and long. With each step, the participants get to experience how the different elements come together for a ‘playbacker’ or a playback team while performing to an audience.

About the Trainers

Flux

Dr. Radhika Jain [Lead Facilitator] is a theatre practitioner for the last 9 years. An actor, director and trainer, Radhika is a leadership graduate from the Centre for Playback Theatre, USA. She is also trained in multiple other formats of interactive theatre like Theatre of the Oppressed, Shadow theatre and Immersive theatre. As an Expressive Arts therapist, Radhika combines the elements of Expressive Arts with the tools of Theatre in her sessions with individuals and groups, in therapeutic settings. She also has a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from Germany and has corporate experience of 7 years in the field of Consulting and Market Research.

Bejoy Balagopal – A theatre practitioner for the last 9 years, Bejoy is a writer, actor and poet. Trained in Playback Theatre and Forum Theatre, Bejoy applies the wealth of over 19 years of corporate experience across the domains of training, people leadership and project management, to the magic of arts.
