FLUX School of Arts is a unique organization in all respects. At FLUX, every batch graduates with a performance after they have finished their 6 month course. It’s our flagship course named X Sense – Professional Contemporary Dance Course at FLUX. Every individual comes together and collaboratively works with our creative director Sahiba Singh.
Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore – How We Start
A dance theatre performance is as much a theatre performance as it is a dance performance alone. Their amalgamation rather makes them a way more stronger medium of entertainment as well as of awareness.
Sahiba holds a separate space for each one to shine their own light on stage. We put together our creative ideas, bare our hearts open and dare weave a courageously vulnerable production in 3 months. During this span, we weave a challenging performance collaboratively on stage.
We dive deeper into the process work, stitching each scene, connecting dots and making lines out of them.

By the end of this process, we evolve as real creative human beings. We meet our deepest parts within ourselves. We also meet others in their creative journey. Thus the production becomes a beautiful storytelling performance by the end of the process. It heals us and frees us from the weight of our estranged stories and lets us own them like never before.
We proceed one step forward to start giving shape to our production titled Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore!
Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore – How We Proceed Further
Sahiba Singh introduces us to the theme of every production, taking us through the lens of how she envisions it. We add to it in our unique creative ways. Thus we all get involved in the process as its organic parts.

Then, through a nuanced, entangled, abstract, multi layered, intersectional humanistic lens, we weave an entirely wholesome art performance. It involves, dance, contemporary movement, theatre, music, costume designing, props planning etc. We create a world of our own and we share that with conviction, intention, and a lot of practice.
We proceed many steps forward to give shape to our production titled Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore!
Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore – The Final Production
Sea’s Fire is the 14th production from FLUX school of Arts. Sahiba came up with the title signifying the immediacy of Red Sea turning Blue again stopping barbaric genocide in Gaza. It’s urgently required to immediately stop at least Gaza children from losing their life which they hadn’t started living yet.

Sea’s Fire essentially means Ceasefire, pun intended as a passionate humanistic call for help. It’s a call to the entire humanity to act like human beings and not like barbarians. At FLUX, we voice, we resist, and we have a HeArt for change. We question the systematic voices that come from deep within us. The voices turn into an appeal for a peaceful revolution through the urge for freedom and change. We dismantle the systems. We rage fiercely. And we rage calmly. It’s because we have the discernment for it. Thus we give voice to the voiceless.
We take our final steps forward to give shape to our production titled Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore!
Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore – The Passion Behind
We do have the empathy to understand that empathy sometimes can feel like a distance between two poles of power. Sometimes it’s realizing that not everyone’s shoe size will match ours. But we need to ask in the very first place why they don’t. It is to feel ‘with’ the people and not ‘for’ them. We let them tell their story the way they want to and not how we want them to. We do not try to fix it. Rather we hold space for it, question the systems and have the courage to follow the answers.

Sea’s Fire dives deeper into the ongoing humanitarian crisis across the globe, its aftermath and the devastation by war. Unluckily in Gaza, it has placed children at the core of its narrative. Through their eyes, we witness the sheer destruction, the apathy, the numbness and the chaos.
We also see the glimmers of hope and resilience amidst all of this. It’s to seek deep contemplation, urging us to rise above apathy and foster dialogues filled with compassion and empathy. We need to strike a poignant conversation about individual and collective responsibility. Let’s fathom the boundless potential for human kindness in the wake of this tragedy.
We link our personal passion along with the entire human compassion to our dance theatre production titled Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore!
Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore – A Call To Action
This powerful dance theatre performance directed by Sahiba Singh is a call to action for audience. We are a group of 14 talented people having intentional conversations. We do agree to disagree on few aspects. Thus we follow the process of collaboration and help each other grow as human beings. The process of production includes creating movements through improvisation. We tell stories through movement by creating…
- motives
- repeated movements
- movement journaling and research
- deepest emotions
- authentic expression
We also hold sharing circles where each one of us share about our feelings regarding the theme. This leads us to what comes up for us channelizing it through dance.

Certain intentions that we worked through this production process was on a totally different tangent. Keeping an account of the intersectional lens was the idea of displacement signifying…
- grief
- loss of self and home
- loss of loved ones
- resilience – falling and then getting up
- bereavement
- fear
- fearlessness
- survival
- numbness
- freeze
- trauma
- hope
- taking one day at a time
- call for help
- our relationship with conscience and moral human values
- ethics
- community support
- healing
- raging
- resistance as joy, grief, rage and art
Around these themes, through the beautiful language of dance, we depict, narrate, and express through our brave gentle hearts.
The idea is to let the audience connect at a deeper level to the extent that they met themselves and beyond. Let them really face our deepest shadows with compassion, grace. Let the light pierce through the cracks from our wounds deeper and deeper.

Out of everything else, being apolitical is the last thing to be in life, as life itself is political. We breathe shallow through the systems, through the oppression and through inequality, keeping an account of the power imbalance. It’s high time when we breathe deeper, safer, fresher, and keep alive by thriving and not only by surviving somehow.
We, at FLUX School of Arts, try to find the purpose of living through this production. Our modus operandi works through creating a lovely community, finding a common thread and building original narratives. We let our bodies be the physical manifestation of our creative ideas and narratives. It creates extra room in our hearts for each other. This also activates cathartic intuitive processing and we take this journey back to our homes. Thus we live life through this immense deepest journey that stays with us all along.

On stage, we turn into characters to the extent that we embody them. This facilitates a creative outlet for us to start a dialogue, and make art at the core of our expression. Because what else, what else is the point in life if there is no art and no aesthetic in it.
We spread our message through staging our dance theatre production titled Sea’s Fire: A Stunning Dance Theatre Performance Bangalore! And we do so repeatedly, EVERY TIME we perform.
Art for change. Always.
As our Founder Sahiba Singh often says “Art is to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.”
